That being said, Britt Daniel’s vocals are very similar to those of Liam Gallagher.

I don’t think Spoon takes themselves too seriously, but they have a style much like mid-nineties British invasion rock, Oasis, early Blur, etc. Aside from the classical guitar, My little Japanese Cigarette could have been an Oasis song.

Spoon’s latest effort has a touch of English flavor to it, but I don’t see the comparison to an Oasis album. They’re sound is much tighter, and they don’t take themselves so seriously. Spoon’s lyrics are more fun. They’ve got much more bounce than Oasis. (“It’s got a beat, and I can dance to it!)
